Social Science student senators are elected by the student body to represent social science on the Western University Senate. The senate is the main governing body of the university. Senators liaise between the SSSC and Senate. They may also sit on the USC as voting or non-voting members and sit on SSSC and USC committees as well as senate committees. Senators work with the president and vice-president academics to advocate to the university on behalf of social science students. They focus primarily on academic and administrative concerns. Finally senators attend Western Student Senator meetings to coordinate with other constituencies to better advocate for students.
