In Ontario, almost 75% of students make the decision to attend college or university before the age of 15. The University Students’ Council and the University of Western Ontario recognize that students often decide their future educational pathways at an early age, and that is why we are committed to successfully organizing this year’s Choose Your Own Adventure (CYOA) Conference, in order to help facilitate access to resources and information about post‐secondary education. This year, we will be reaching out to groups of Grade 8 students who are at‐risk, low‐income students, and may be under‐represented in post‐secondary education.
We are looking for motivated, compassionate individuals to volunteer their time to help make this conference a success. As a Leadership Developer, you will act as mentor and session‐leader to a group of four Grade 8 students during the conference. You will be on the front‐lines, interacting directly with these youth, hopefully having a positive impact on their life and their future decisions!
Applications will be available in the format of a google doc linked here and at our website. For more details and updates visit us at cyoaconference.wordpress.c
