Social Science Ball 2011

This year's Social Science formal - renamed Social Science Ball - was a huge success! With approximately 150 students in attendance, the 19+ event held at the Wave was one of the first of its kind to ever be held on campus and more - in the UCC. The Wave was transformed into a sophisticated and sleek atmosphere for students from Social Science and across campus to enjoy the fine dining and dance the night away. The executive and charity commissioner took part in a charity raffle to support the Bravery Bunch. Six lucky winners won the first dance with Ashley, Adrian, Neha, Mikki, Stephen and Devon and we're excited to announce that we raised $200 alone in donations! Thank you to all Social Science students who attended and a special thanks to those attendees from other faculties and affiliated colleges. Merch for Sale during O-Week!

Are you excited to be back at Western? Well I hope you are and what's a better way to start the school year off than by wearing some AMAZING merchandise! We still have some of our "Go Big Go Home" t-shirts as well as some new merchandise as well! Be the first one in your house, your floor, or your residence to get one. To see some photos of the "Go Big Go Home" t-shirts, go to "Photos" then "T-Shirts" in the menu above.
We will be selling the merchandise during O-Week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9AM to 4PM inside the Social Science Centre. Come find us on the main floor, outside of Academic Counselling at the kiosk. Come stop by any time and talk to some of the members on the Social Science Students' Council as well if you are interested in getting involved. We can't wait to meet all of you new to Western and all of those returning that we yet don't know!

Final Council Social

Hi Council!
I hope you're all having a fun and relaxing reading week! This is just a reminder that our last council social will be held on Thursday March 3, at The Barking Frog. The exec has put together an amazing deal for all of you. For $5 each you will get transportation from the pre to The Barking Frog, chocolate fondue, appetizers (nachos, spring rolls etc) and 3 drink tickets each!!!
Please pay $5 by Wednesday March 2, as I will need to put together a guest list. The exec really wants everyone to attend so please make some effort to fit this in your schedule! If you are under age, unfortunately there is no guarantee that you will be allowed in the Frog but we are still working on it and will get back to you soon!
